Scrooge McDuck and his misfit great-nephews are coming back for some brand-new adventures, and now we finally have our first look at Disney's rebooted Duck Tales.

The trailer actually looks like a lot of fun as it recaptures some of the spirit that made the original series such a cultural icon. Of course, this take has a bit more edge than the late '80s version fans remember ...

We get a peek at some of Scrooge's misadventures, from piloting a submarine to battling some kind of dragon. Basically, Scrooge looks to be a retired hero and Donald is essentially a great adventurer in the same vein as Indiana Jones. It seems to be shaping up as a swashbuckling, family-friendly animated adventure that will hopefully appeal to old and new fans alike. Fingers crossed, at least.

Ultimately it's the voice cast that really sells this thing. David Tennant (Doctor Who) is killing it as Scrooge, along with Danny Pudi (Community), Ben Schwartz (Parks and Recreation) and Bobby Moynihan (Saturday Night Live) as the voices of Huey, Dewey and Louie. Along with the core cast, the series will also feature Kate Micucci as Webby Vanderquack, Beck Bennett as Launchpad McQuack and Toks Olagundoye as Mrs. Beakley,

The new-look Duck Tales premieres later this year on Disney XD. Until then, check out the trailer below and let us know what you think.
