Earth to Ned: Alien talk show from Jim Henson Co. makes contact in first Disney+ trailer

By Josh Weiss
Earth to Ned

The first out of this world (literally) teaser trailer for Earth to Ned has landed on our planet. Hailing from the iconic Jim Henson Company, the late-night talk show (coming to Disney+ next month) revolves around Ned the alien and his lieutenant Cornelius, both of whom have fallen head over heels for Earth culture.

Broadcasting from his ship, which is buried deep underground, Ned interviews special celebrity guests — some of the biggest stars in this part of the galaxy — all while hiding from his father, Admiral of the Galactic Fleet. In addition to Cornelius, the puppeted E.T. host also receives help from his ship's artificial intelligence (named BETI) and the destructive CLODs (Cloned Living Organisms of Destruction).

Season 1's packed list of guests includes:

Joshua Bassett (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series), Rachel Bilson (The O.C.), Michael Ian Black (Wet Hot American Summer), Rachel Bloom (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend), Gina Carano (The Mandalorian), RuPaul (RuPaul’s Drag Race), Taye Diggs (Rent), Lil Rel Howery (Get Out), Bindi and Robert Irwin (Crikey! It’s the Irwins), Gillian Jacobs (Community), NeNe Leakes (The Real Housewives of Atlanta), Thomas Lennon (The Twilight Zone), Joel McHale (Stargirl), Andy Richter (Conan), Olivia Rodrigo (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series), Eli Roth (Hostel), Kristen Schaal (Bill & Ted Face the Music), Paul Scheer (Marvel's 616), Jenny Slate (Venom), Raven Symoné (Raven’s Home), Reggie Watts (The Late Late Show with James Corden), and Billy Dee Williams (Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back).

Brian Henson and Vince Raisa (of The Jim Henson Company) and Joseph Freed and Allison Berkley (of Marwar Junction Productions) serve as executive producers.

Announced last fall, Earth to Ned will finally invade Disney+ Friday, Sep. 4 with a batch of 10 episodes. It should give HBO Max's The Not-Too-Late Show with Elmo a run for its money.
