Those who saw the first season of Starz’ American Gods ended up seeing quite a lot of wild things — talking buffalo, an unlucky leprechaun, an undead woman hunting down her husband and of course, a house full of Jesuses. But could we expect to see a musical episode in Season 2?
If the cast members had their way, yes. American Gods stars Ricky Whittle (Shadow Moon) and Yetide Badaki (Bilquis) stopped by SYFY WIRE’s Live Stage during Emerald City Comic Con to discuss Whittle’s tight dance moves and whether fans could expect to see them in Season 2.
“I think we might see Shadow Moon dance, because you never know what’s going to happen in American Gods,” Whittle said. “He dreams a lot, and if he can dream a buffalo talking to him with fire in his eyes, I’m pretty sure he can dream, like, a dance sequence.”
To which Badaki suggested: “Or just a whole musical episode?”
Whittle clearly liked that idea. “We could just do a musical episode.” Until Season 2 comes out, we’ll just have to wait and see. Until then, we can always check out Whittle’s appearances on Strictly Come Dancing, for which he was runner-up, for those dance moves of his.
At a panel on the main stage of the convention on Saturday, Badaki and Whittle said they were excited to go deeper with the characters and the mythology of the show for the second season.
