With Barry (Grant Gustin) now behind bars for the “murder” of Clifford DeVoe (Neil Sandilands) following what turned out to be a disastrous trial for the Fastest Man Alive, Ralph Dibny (Hartley Sawyer), aka Elongated Man, will have to step up to the plate to protect Central City from a familiar foe on The Flash. Thankfully this time, he’ll be doing it in style since he’ll be wearing some cool new superhero duds.

Thank you, Cisco (Carlos Valdes).

Titled “The Elongated Knight Rises,” next week’s installment of The Flash will see the return of American Horror Story alum Devon Graye as Axel Walker/Trickster who will be accompanied by new partner-in-crime Zoey Clark/Prank (Corinne Bohrer).

The villainous duo will be taking Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) and Cisco hostage and it’s going to be up to Dibny to rescue them. Gone will be the fugly shapeless grey suit Dibny has been wearing since becoming part of Team Flash, which will finally pull a disappearing act at some point during the episode.

As you can see in the image above and those in the gallery below, the new suit looks good, and the goggles are a nice touch. But it looks nothing like what the character wears in the pages of the DC Comics — which isn’t a bad thing since it usually looks something like this:

The episode will also see Barry trying to adjust to life in prison by searching for “the strength to keep his optimism alive in the face of his new circumstances,” as per the official episode description. And it looks like he’s going to make a new friend in the slammer in the shape of WWE superstar Bill Goldberg who is set to guest-star as Big Sir for a two-episode arc. Can we assume/hope that’s how long Barry will remain in prison?

The Flash returns for a new episode on Tuesday, Jan. 23 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
