Familiar faces from seasons gone by are coming back with a vengeance on the upcoming American Horror Story: Apocalypse.
The latest actor returning to the show is Emma Roberts, who joined the series in its third season, Coven, starring in the main role of Madison Montgomery. Since then, the actress has appeared in AHS: Freak Show and AHS: Cult as Maggie Esmerelda and Serena Belinda respectively.
Roberts teased her role in the forthcoming eighth season by posting a picture of herself on Instagram, wearing an outfit of black sunglasses, a black dress, and high-topped black boots. She's holding a feather duster used by old-timey and, oh yeah, she's standing next to a pile of dug-up human bones.
"I bring you Madison Montgomery on #ahs8.? Does the bitch survive the #apocalypse?" reads the photo's caption.
Last we saw of Madison, she was strangled to death by Kyle (Evan Peters), so it'll be interesting to see how they explain her resurrection.
Recently, we got a glimpse of three over Coven alumni: Sarah Paulson (Cordelia Foxx), Stevie Nicks (of Fleetwood Mac fame), and Lily Rabe (Misty Day). This past weekend, AHS co-creator Ryan Murphy threw things back to Season 1's Murder House with an image of Connie Britton (Vivien Harmon) and Dylan McDermott (Dr. Ben Harmon).
Speaking of Evan Peters, Murphy gave yet another nod to Murder House today, confirming that the actor would be reprising his role of Tate Langdon, the insane ghost who resides within the cursed mansion.
"Tate. Happy to be home," wrote Murphy.
Peters (Quicksilver in the X-Men films) has appeared in every season of the show since 2011 and will be making his directorial debut with an episode of Season 8.
American Horror Story: Apocalypse premieres on FX Wednesday, Sep. 12. You can watch two new teasers below:
