Halloween is coming up, which means you gotta start thinking about and locking down costume ideas. Will you be a sexy Rainbow Brite a blood-drenched Dolores Abernathy, or the Black Panther, protector of Wakanda?
If dressing up as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman crossed your mind, Emma Watson already has you beat. The actress, known for playing Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter movies, posted a photo of herself dressed as the Princess of Themyscira, tiara and all. Oh, and she's posing next to Yoda himself.
The Halloween-related pic was posted to promote Daphne Du Maurier's classic Gothic horror novel Rebecca, which is the latest book to be featured by Watson's bi-monthly feminist book club, Our Shared Shelf.
"SPOOKY TREAT the Sept / Oct @oursharedshelf members’ choice winner is Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier," reads part of the Instagram caption, although Watson used two Jack-o'-lantern emojis in place of the O's in "SPOOKY," because you just gotta.
Published in 1938, Rebecca tells the story of an unnamed narrator, who hastily marries Maxim de Winter in Monte Carlo and is whisked off to his large estate in England. However, she soon learns that his dead wife, Rebecca, could still be affecting Maxim's life (not to mention his new marriage) from beyond the grave.
Think of Rebecca as Guillermo del Toro's Crimson Peak, but a version that was made nearly 30 years before the director's birth.
