Being one of my favorite Disney animated movies of all time, it's with a certain level of trepidation that I'm awaiting the premiere of the live-action retelling of a "Tale as Old as Time," Beauty and the Beast. Ahead of the film's debut in two weeks, a new featurette has been released.
Following the premiere of a brand-new clip featuring the titular Beast trying to extend an invitation to dinner to Belle (Emma Watson), the House of Mouse has unveiled a cool promo centering on the film's female lead and how they wanted to create a 21st-century heroine.
Titled "Empowered Belle," the featurette includes some new footage and interviews with stars Emma Watson (Belle), Dan Stevens (the Prince/Beast), Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Plumette), Josh Gad (Lefou) and director Bill Condom.
Beauty and the Beast also stars Luke Evans as Gaston, Kevin Kline as Belle's father Maurice, Ewan McGregor as Lumière, Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, Stanley Tucci as Cadenza, Audra McDonald as Garderobe and Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts. The film opens on March 17.
