The Walking Dead's ninth season returns this weekend for its sixth episode, "Who Are You Now?", the first episode without Andrew Lincoln's Rick Grimes. But don't worry, other characters will be picking up the slack after the departure of their leader.
Take Eugene Porter (Josh McDermitt), for instance. A man who was once the Peter Pettigrew of The Walking Dead universe is turning into a bona fide action hero and defender of humanity. He also has the best catchphrase of all time, "Sweet Sassy Molassy!"
In a new clip released by TV Guide, we find him working on the top of a water tower with Rosita (Christian Serratos) providing ground support. He's about to climb down when his vantage point provides him with the sight of an oncoming horde of walkers. Time becomes an important factor as he tries to climb back down to join Rosita on the ground. The only problem is that the ladder is knocked out of place!

The clip is tense and proves that the show can still be exciting without the presence of Rick. However, AMC has been struggling with ratings this season, which got a boost from Lincoln's final episode but likely won't be helped by his absence. What will be the new normal for the show post-Rick?
"Who Are You Now?" premieres Sunday on AMC at 9/8c.
