Even Shannon Purser’s barista thinks Barb deserved better

During the darkest of times, coffee is always there to lift you up. So it’s kind of a shame there wasn’t a Starbucks in the Upside Down, back when Barb really needed one in Stranger Things Season 1.

Okay, sure, Starbucks wasn’t anywhere near Hawkins, Indiana in the ‘80s, where Stranger Things is set, but Demo-dogs aren’t real either, FYI. And judging from this recent bit of excellent Starbuckian customer service, it’s safe to say Barb would have at least been comforted to the end by such a finely placed coffee shop.

Just take a look at the thoughtful note that a Vancouver-based Starbucks barista left to Shannon Purser, aka Barb, on her coffee cup recently…

Ain’t that the truth?

Of course, that refers to Barb’s sad demise on the show, and the whole #JusticeForBarb movement that ensued. While it’s certainly not justice, it’s at least compassion.

And not only that, she actually got Barb’s name right, which is a heckuva lot more than most Starbucks baristas can say.

After some Twitter sleuthing, it would appear the emotionally sensitive barista responsible for the note goes by @neatokiddo, aka Gail, and it’s safe to say she sent her message from a place of love...

Even better, when she responded to Purser’s twitter thanks, Gail got an even better response in return…

Presumably Purser is up in British Columbia, Canada filming the Riverdale episode “A Night to Remember,” which IMDb confirms she’ll be appearing in, reprising her regular role as Ethel “Coffee” Muggs.
