Every Day Horror Day 20: Ti West's The Sacrament

Apr 23, 2019, 4:07 PM EDT (Updated)

It's October 20. That's 20 days in a row we've been watching horror movies. And we're still just getting started. Can't stop 'til it's Halloween, won't stop 'til it's Halloween. It's almost cultish.

And if you thought that was a reference to the Cult of the Thorn, I'm sorry. I mean I'm not that sorry. Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers ain't great, Paul Rudd or no Paul Rudd. No disrespect, Michael. Please don't kill me. Your new Halloween movie is great.

No, today on Every Day Horror I'm joined by Whitney Moore and we are talking about The Sacrament (2013). It's a Ti West-directed film, which, if you don't know, means it's a bit of a slow burn. But the payoff is solid and the work-around for doing found footage while still maintaining aesthetically pleasing cinematography is inspired.

And you know what else? It's a really cool modern take on the Jonestown Massacre.
