It’ll be an interesting transition to watch CBS’s Supergirl ease into its new home on The CW, and a new trailer shows they’ll basically be distracting us with something shiny and new as part of the series relaunch. Lucky for them, it kinda works.
The CW has dropped a new trailer for the series, featuring a good bit of new footage focused on Superman/Clark Kent’s (Tyler Hoechlin) arrival in National City. For fans worried Supes would be stealing the spotlight, they take aim at those worries head-on, with gags about everyone (Cat has a bit of crush it seems) getting excited about Superman (and Clark’s) presence. It’s cute, and if nothing else, the writing team at least seems aware of those worries.
Look closely and you might also notice a first look at Lex Luthor’s sister Lena (Katie McGrath) popping up in the ensemble cast. As for the tone? It looks like a subtle evolution of Season 1, with a bit more CW-ness thrown in. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Much like Supergirl herself, we’re optimistic.
Supergirl premieres Monday, October 10 The CW.
