Into the Woods, the beloved fantasy musical, is finally headed to the big screen, and it's bringing a ton of stars.

It's been nearly 30 years since Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine brought their acclaimed fairy-tale musical mashup to the stage, and since then other stories intertwining the lives of fairy tale characters have enjoyed plenty of success. Fables is one of the most acclaimed comic-book series of the past decade, and Once Upon a Time has become a TV hit that continues to grow its roster of characters. So it's no surprise that, after years of development hell, the Walt Disney Company has finally gotten an Into the Woods movie made.

Featuring characters from classic Grimm fairy tales like CinderellaJack and the BeanstalkRapunzel and Little Red Riding HoodInto the Woods is the story of a Baker and his wife who find themselves cursed to have no children by a Witch and must journey into a mysterious dark forest to break the curse. Along the way, their stories intertwine with those of various fairy-tale characters, including Cinderella and Rapunzel, who all have wishes of their own. The original stage musical took an often irreverent, adult look at the fairy tales, and Sondheim both raised and then tried to calm fan concerns earlier this year that the story will be scrubbed of its edge by Disney's family friendliness.

So what does the teaser trailer tell us about that? Not much, but we do get a glimpse of many of the film's central characters, and of course Disney heavily plays up the number of movie stars it's packed into the flick, chief among them Oscar winner Meryl Streep as the Witch. It also sets a definite fairy-tale tone with a number of classic visuals that evoke the biggest moments of many of these stories, and though we don't get to hear anyone sing this time, the trailer does feature a soaring score.

In additon to  Streep, Into the Woods stars Anna Kendrick as Cinderella, James Corden as the Baker, Emily Blunt as the Baker's Wife, Chris Pine as Cinderella's Prince, Christine Baranski as Cinderella's Stepmother, Johnny Depp as the Wolf and many more. Check out the trailer below:
