The BBC has just released the exciting first trailer for its upcoming—and highly anticipated—fifth season of Merlin—and this thing is wall-to-wall total epicness.

King Arthur (Bradley James)? Check. Some swordplay? Check. Epic battles? Check. Merlin (Colin Morgan)? Check. The Knights of the Round Table? Check. THE Round Table? Check. Evil Morgana (Katie McGrath)? Check. Some dragons? Check. A bit of sorcery? Check. Gwen's (Angel Coulby) heaving bosom? Check, check and check!

Plus there are some awesome guest stars sprinkled here and there in the trailer—blink and you'll miss them (we especially spied Game of Thrones' Onion knight himself, Davos Seaworth, played by the always-awesome Liam Cunningham).

And all of this is served to the perfect tune of Muse's "Knights of Cydonia."

Have a look:

According to Merlin co-creator Julian Murphy, the fifth series will feature a much "stronger, focused and [more] powerful" Merlin than in previous seasons.

Can we have a heck yeah? It's about time, you guys.

Murphy also added: "I think it's interesting because you saw a glimpse [of that] at the end of the last series, particularly when he killed Agravaine (Nathaniel Parker).

"We're really interested in taking him on that journey with all its dangers and the temptations it will bring, so that will be a big part of the fifth series."

And with the news that a sixth series is very much possible, we cannot help but be excited about what's coming up. How about you?

Merlin will air on BBC One in the fall and in January 2013 on Syfy.
