Based on Joss Whedon's short-lived but much-loved TV sci-fi western, Firefly is written by New York Times bestselling author Greg Pak (World War Hulk, Mech Cadet Yu) with artist Dan McDaid (Judge Dredd) and centers around the quirky crew of the Serenity as Captain Mal and company crash land on a remote moon and end up acting as guardians for a group of pilgrims while a band of ruthless Alliance mercenaries hunt down Mal and Zoe as Unification War criminals.
Now SYFY WIRE has an exclusive peek at the second issue as the stakes rise for Serenity's close-knit clan when the Unifactors close in and troubling secrets from the pair's dark past are unearthed as they make their way across this outer moon.
“We’ve only seen hints of what Mal and Zoe did during the Unification War in the past. This the issue where we learn the secret Mal has been carrying with him all these years, the decision he made that set them on the path to being war criminals,” Boom! Executive Editor Jeanine Schaefer explained. “As they strip away illusions about the past, The Unificators will also have a huge impact on the future of the crew – starting with the first appearance of their leader, who’ll play a key role in this series.”
Firefly #2 lands on Dec. 19 and showcases a main cover by Lee Garbett (Skyward), along with variants by Garbett, Joe Quinones (America) and Marguerite Sauvage (Archie).
