The halls of San Diego Comic-Con have never been afraid of an interesting crossover or mashup, but this one might be the most intriguing we’ve seen in a while.

In a throwback to the classic days of Scooby-Doo cameos, the iconic rock band KISS is set to headline an animated feature dubbed Scooby-Doo! and KISS: Rock and Roll Mystery. As luck would have it, KISS was actually on hand at SDCC to talk up the project, and we got a few minutes to chat about it.

The band members talk about how the iconic look of KISS actually meshes well with the animated world of Scooby-Doo, and how they hope the project will appeal to fans across a wide demographic. Gene Simmons also reveals that the look of the band in the film will be throwing some nods to classic comic artists, so that’s definitely something to look for.
