The third season of Netflix's Daredevil will have a new big bad, and we finally got to meet him at New Your Comic Con. The cast and showrunner of Marvel's Daredevil joined forces on SYFY WIRE’s Live Stage to tell us what we could expect from the upcoming third season. It wasn't until the end of the panel that they gave the big reveal.
After a quick introduction, they debuted an all-new trailer for season three, before talking about how Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil, will be facing challenges this year, unlike anything he's dealt with before. "He's at such a low point this year," said Charlie Cox, who plays Daredevil. "He's been through so much in such a short period of time, and in the rebuilding process, we see a man grappling with his sanity. We meet a Matt Murdock who's been even more reckless than he's been in the past."
With that, Cox turned to co-star Wilson Bethel, who'd been sitting quietly next to the star.
"We got some fantastic new characters this season," teased Cox, who asked Bethel, "I think for the fans out there that are excited to see the show, can you give your character name? The person you're playing?"
"I guess I should introduce myself as Bullseye," Bethel responded, to a huge round of applause from the crowd. "Pleased to meet you."
This is certainly big news for fans, who've been anticipating the arrival of the character since the show's first season. As comic fans are well aware, he's an iconic comic rogue for the Man Without Fear, and seeing his abilities to turn pretty much anything into a weapon with killer precision brought to live action should be an interesting part of Season 3.
Daredevil's third season premieres on Netflix on Friday, October 19. In the meantime, be sure to check out SYFY WIRE’s full coverage of NYCC 2018, including up-to-the-minute news, exclusive interviews, and videos.
