Deadpool films never give you a straight answer, which makes reporting on their production and that of their sequels and spin-offs a bit tricky. So obviously, you can really only trust people right in the middle of the action.
Clearing up a few X-Questions that were still lingering after the film, Deadpool 2’s Lewis Tan, who played Shatterstar in the movie, spoke to SYFY WIRE at the 44th annual Saturn Awards in Burbank, California, about the upcoming X-Force movie from director Drew Goddard.

So the X-Force got killed pretty much immediately after they showed up in Deadpool 2, so that kind of put a kink in everyone’s plan who assumed that the movie would follow the marketing closely. But, Tan says, all hope is not lost.
“You’re going to see more of my character in the X-Force film ... that's what it's looking like,” the actor said. While he was hesitant to confirm with utmost certainty, Tan credits his return to some of the finale’s fun. “Thankfully, Deadpool went back and had a little time machine that he stole, so in the post-credits scene he brought back Peter, and it’s assumed that we’re all going to come back as well.
“Hopefully he brings back Shatterstar and everybody,” Tan said, “because the fans really enjoyed that scene, and I get a lot of attention online about how they thought it was one of the best scenes in the film.” Wait -- everybody? Does that mean Bedlam, Zeitgeist, and everyone’s favorite everyman Peter will be returning even if the X-Force adds some other members?
2019 will hold the answers -- unless Deadpool starts using that time machine again -- but this is a start.
