After finishing a two-year run on Action Comics, writer Dan Jurgens is changing his address at DC Comics to Space Sector 2814. On Independence Day, the first of what will assuredly be a long run on Green Lanterns begins with Issue #50, with terrific art by Mike Perkins and colors by Andy Troy and Peter Pantazis.
The story, called "Something Is Amiss," takes place after the events of Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps #50. John Stewart, the leader of the Green Lantern Corps who has just ordered the Corps not to use lethal force, answers a distress signal in Space Sector 0811 when he's suddenly ambushed. Meanwhile, something just isn't right with the Central Power Battery in what DC Comics is calling an infection. The Guardians sense all is not right in the Corps, and there's a cliffhanger you won't want to miss. All of the Green Lanterns are on hand in this one, including Guy Gardner, Kyle Rayner, Kilowog, Simon Baz, and Jessica Cruz.
Green Lanterns #50 is extra-sixed at 40 pages and goes on sale July 4 for $3.99 digitally and in print at a local comic shop near you. SYFY WIRE has an exclusive first look at the first five pages of the story. Check it out below and let us know what you think and if this comic will be on your pull list tomorrow.
