We gave you a first look at the comic cover of the crossover to end all crossovers, Archie Meets Batman ‘66 (sorry Avengers: Infinity War), but now we’re back in the Gotham City vs. Riverdale races with five exclusive new pages and five covers for fans of either (or both) comic hero to peruse.
Batman (especially Adam West’s ‘60s TV Batman) and Archie have long been well-travelled characters, meeting everyone from The Predator to Scooby-Doo, but now they meet each other as Mr. Lodge becomes Batman and Robin’s nemesis while Veronica has to reach out to the Batcave for assistance.
The series is written by Jeff Parker and Michael Moreci with pencils by Dan Parent, inks by J. Bone, and colors by Kelly FitzPatrick.
Check out the five new pages from the first issue below, which feature Poison Ivy's plant men, Batgirl, Jughead, and a who's who of Batman villainy:
We've also got three new variant covers for the first issue, bringing the total of covers up to five, featuring art by Derek Charm, Francesco Francavilla, Sandy Jarrell with Kelly Fitzpatrick, Dan Parent with J. Bone and Rosario “Tito” Peña, and Ty Templeton:
The 32-page Archie Meets Batman '66 #1 goes on sale July 18 for $3.99.
