If there’s a project worth geeking out about, Guillermo del Toro probably has a hand in it. So, we hit him up with all our burning questions about Crimson Peak, Hellboy 3 and Pacific Rim 2.
Del Toro’s upcoming gothic horror tale Crimson Peak looks to be one the creepiest movies of the year, and the director dug into the differences in making a monster movie and a horror film. The cinema legend also talked about his approach to the spooky, creepy and crawly. Basically, he considers horror an “act of faith,” because in his movies, you can assume it’s all real.
Digging deeper, we also asked del Toro about Ron Perlman’s recent push to get a third Hellboy film made. Not surprisingly, del Toro said he’d make the movie in a heartbeat — it’s just a matter of actually getting it funded at a level where they could do the apocalyptic tale justice. He also offered an update on Pacific Rim 2, and it sounds like del Toro is having way too much fun designing monsters and robots. We can’t wait to see the fruits of those labors.
