Love is a four-letter word to the glamorous and imposing women of Madam Yankelova's Fine Literature Club. They value literature, luxury, and a bold lip color, but they absolutely abhor any emotional attachment that might make them beholden to some man. To them, men are good for one thing and one thing only. But it's not what you might think.
Madam Yankelova's Fine Literature Club centers on an all-female secret society that gathers together each week for a very special dinner, at which men are so much more than special guests. Each week, club members hunt for a physically fit chap to be their date, in hopes of impressing their elegant and exacting leader, Madam Yankelova. Whoever brings the best man wins a Woman of the Week trophy. Collect 100 trophies and the member achieves the coveted status of Lordess. Sophie is on the brink of scoring this honor. But over the years, her hunger for the hunt has faded along with her looks, steadily hurting her reputation among her peers. One more bad date and she risks a demeaning demotion. So when a sexy and smart stranger wanders into her library, he seems the answer to her prayers. But as romance blooms, Sophie is forced to make a difficult choice.
