SYFY has expanded its network programming slate in recent years, from crazy horror adventures like Z Nation to acclaimed space operas like The Expanse. Now, it really feels like that's about to hit another level with the new action-comedy series Happy!

Based on the graphic novel by Grant Morrison (JLA, The Invisibles) and Darick Robertson (TransmetropolitanThe Boys), Happy! is the story of Nick Sax (Christopher Meloni), an alcoholic former cop turned hitman who'd really rather not be alive anymore. Then a near-death experience leads him to begin seeing and hearing a tiny blue winged unicorn named Happy! (voiced by Patton Oswalt). From there, it only gets weirder.

See, Happy! isn't just Nick's new imaginary friend. He's also the imaginary friend of a little girl named Hailey, who was kidnapped by an evil Santa (Christmas is a huge part of this story, which can only make it more fun). Happy! appeals to Nick's better nature, and together they embark on a quest to save Hailey and, for Nick, maybe even find a little redemption.

The truly bonkers trailer for the series arrived earlier this month (check that out below), and fans can now get an exclusive peek at the show's new poster, featuring Nick and Happy!. Check it out:

Happy! arrives Dec. 6 to make the season bright.
