Poster Posse, the astounding online art collective, is soaring in on a stiff winter breeze and delivering a special tribute to Disney's Mary Poppins Returns ahead of its December 19 release, and SYFY WIRE has an exclusive preview of the first 12 official fan posters.
The $130 million musical follow-up to Julie Andrews' whimsical Mary Poppins classic from 1964 is directed by Rob Marshall (Into the Woods, Chicago) and stars Emily Blunt as the supernatural nanny with a bewitched umbrella and tongue-twisting tunes.
Poster Posse is also running a special contest to score a 1 of 1 black-and-white sketch by the talented illustrator known as The Dark Inker. To enter, all fans need to do is follow Poster Posse on Instagram, “Like” the image on Instagram, then tag a friend in the comments section below The Dark Inker image. A random winner will be chosen on December 19 and announced on Twitter and Instagram.
“In 1964 when Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke took to the silver screen in Disney’s Mary Poppins, they stole the hearts of a generation," Poster Posse's Don Thompson told SYFY WIRE. "Now, 54 years later, a whole new generation is set to be enchanted as everyone’s favorite nanny returns. The original film is so dear to so many that we knew we wanted to do a tribute for Mary Poppins Returns. Emily Blunt is the epitome of perfect casting for this role and we can’t wait to be swept up into the songs and magic that is Mary Poppins.”
