What is real, and what is a perversion of reality? That's the question Batman must answer as he's trapped in the Dark Multiverse, faced with his greatest fears and deepest doubts -- going all the way back to his first case -- in Batman Lost #1.

Written by Scott Snyder, with art by Bengal and Olivier Coipel, the latest Dark Nights: Metal tie-in is available November 8 (along with another tie-in, Hal Jordan & the Green Lantern Corps #32).

In the exclusive SYFY WIRE preview below, a 78-year-old Grandpa Bruce tells a story to young Janet. It is a story about his early days in the cowl, "The Case of the Chemical Syndicate." All is not as it seems as we flash back to Batman on the job and things unfold differently -- and the demons of the Dark Multiverse begin to reveal themselves.

But damn it, Janet, will Bruce be able to keep it together long enough to travel through his own history, and pre-history, without succumbing to madness? Check out the preview and find out when Batman Lost #1 drops this Wednesday.
