Selina Kyle has had a dark past. And in this upcoming issue, Catwoman #4, we're exploring it in ways we never have before.
Things have gone from bad to worse for Selina in Villa Hermosa. Her new city has taken away what little she was able to carry with her from Gotham, and her rap sheet offers scant protection when local crooks frame her for murdering two police officers. She's in the clink, giving her time to reflect on her life and all the things that led her to Villa Hermosa.
Turns out she didn’t choose the move randomly or just to get away from the Batman.
Joëlle Jones, the first woman to both write and draw Catwoman, reintroduced Selina's sister Maggie Kyle in Catwoman #3, a character we haven't seen since Gotham City Sirens. In Ed Brubaker's Catwoman: Relentless series, Maggie's husband Simon was murdered by Black Mask, who then tortured Maggie, all to get to Selina.
This special interlude issue doesn't just rehash the past — we're going back in time to explode some previously unknown truth bombs about Selina Kyle. Batwoman artist Fernando Blanco joins Jones to explore a couple of the early versions of Catwoman’s nine lives.
SYFY FANGRRLS got an exclusive look at the first five pages of Catwoman #4, as well as the cover and variant. Selina is going way back—and we're going back with her. Pick it up when it's released tomorrow, October 10.
