A new era is beginning with Dark Horse Comics' Mignola-verse, which of course means some things are going to go to hell. Things may seem bleak, at first. After all, Hellboy and BPRD creator Mike Mignola is taking a year off, and longtime BPRD writer John Arcudi is ending his acclaimed run on the book.

But there is hope yet, fans. For instance, Mignola's Hellboy in Hell: Death Card, Volume 2 is now available in bookstores, and there will be new stories on the way in the Mignola-verse, many co-written by Mike and Chris Roberson. And although we're sad to bid Arcudi adieu, we have a hot little issue of his BPRD: Hell on Earth hitting stands today.

And just because we like you, we're offering up an exclusive sneak of the book before you pick it up. Check out the pages below, and if you dig what you see, grab the new issue, beginning today.

The official synopsis

The BPRD faces heavy fatalities as western states are laid waste in the battle with the embodiment of cosmic evil, the Ogdru Jahad. The only hope to destroy the beast may be the unholy plan of the little demon girl Varvara.

BPRD: Hell on Earth #146 is published by Dark Horse Comics, and available Oct. 19, 2016. It is written by Mike Mignola, and John Arcudi. Art is by Laurence Campbell, with a cover by Duncan Fegredo.
