Batman is never more at home than when he's patrolling the alleys of Gotham City. But there’s an unknown magic invading the Dark Knight’s hometown, and that’s far from his only problem. Wonder Woman has requested Batman’s help in solving a murder... in the hidden kingdom of Tir Na Nóg, where creatures and gods from Celtic lore have sealed themselves off from humanity.

Writer and artist Liam Sharp is putting both Batman and Wonder Woman in unfamiliar territory in his new miniseries, The Brave and the Bold. Somehow, the unfolding mystery of the kingdom is connected with the magical phenomenon back in Gotham. And while the murdered king was supposedly loved by all, the two heroes are getting a serious pushback from the residents of the kingdom. War may be on the horizon, regardless of who killed the king.

In our exclusive preview for The Brave and the Bold: Batman and Wonder Woman #4, the titular heroes actually face an inquest for dealing with their stalkers in the previous issue. Meanwhile, the situation in Gotham is getting even more out of hand.

The issue will be released in comic book stores on May 16. Here’s the official description of the issue from DC Comics.

Elatha may have been the most recent king of Tir Na Nóg to die, but death is never far from the throne. Batman and Wonder Woman learn about the realm’s first king, his mysterious silver arm and what bearing it may have on the problems of the present, as the Fomorians grow increasingly weary of these strangers and their questions. The duo’s investigation was supposed to bring answers and keep the peace, but it might burn into the spark that ignites the first shots of war!
