The geek mecca that is San Diego Comic-Con is officially underway, and we caught up with Warcraft director Duncan Jones to talk about what fans can expect from the eagerly-awaited video game adaptation.

Blastr’s own Aaron Sagers chatted with Jones just moments after a massive, WETA statue of Warcraft character Durotan was unveiled on the showroom floor. The director touched on the hefty effects work required to get the film made, as well as how it feels to be closing in on the finish line with production.

The film is based on the video game series of the same name, and will follow the humans' first encounter with orcs. We're thinking it'll be something in the vein of Lord of the Rings, but more Warcraft-y (obviously).

Check out the interview (plus a look at the gigantic Durotan statue)  below and let us know what you think:

Warcraft is set to open June 10, 2016.
