Fabulous graphic X-Files video asks: Are we being lied to?

The X-Files won’t be hitting the small screen until Jan. 24, 2016, on Fox. But the promos are in full swing to fuel the flames of X-fanaticism. It’s safe to say that the latest video, below, is unlike anything we’ve ever seen.

That’s because, instead of getting clips of Scully and Mulder looking both exasperated and obsessive, respectively, we’re treated to a graphic video.

It’s one of the cooler commercials I’ve seen in a while -- and I’ve seen quite a few. As images melt and fold into each other, we hear clips from the upcoming episode, yet see images from the original X-Files (I recognized the Flukeman instantly, because who the hell can forget that episode??).

Although Fox sadly hasn’t released the name of the artist(s) who produced the commercial, the network revealed the first episode’s basic plot: “In the opening episode, Mulder and Scully take on a case of a possible alien abductee.”

Hey ... doesn’t that describe most of Scully and Mulder’s caseload?

The first episode of the new X-Files hit the big screen at New York Comic Con. For my spoiler-free notes, click here.
