If you melded Inception with The Matrix and Stranger Things, you'd get USA's Falling Water. The intriguing series is about a group of decent people who realize they can manipulate reality through their dreams. Alas, they're not the only ones who can do it and must stop those who use their dream-altering abilities for evil ends. Saving the world by going to sleep? Where do we sign up?!
The show's second season returns Saturday night, and SYFY WIRE has an exclusive, spine-tingling clip in which young James (Aidan Wojtak-Hissong) tells Tess (Lizzie Brocheré) about Shadowman.
"He's very angry and wants to do bad things," says James.
"To you?" asks Tess.
"To everyone," he counters.
Whoa, slow down there, Will Byers Jr. Who is this Shadowman and what threat does he pose to the show's characters? We're not sure at this point, but the fact that Tess discovers a drawing of him under one of a bunch of bloody dead people can't be good news. Why are things a million times creepier when they're drawn by a child? It may be time to revoke James' marker privileges.
The second season checks back in with Taka (Will Yun Lee), Tess (Brocheré), and Burton (David Ajala) as they try to fend off an unknown entity that infiltrates and manipulates nightmares and threatens to spill that over into the waking world.
Falling Water Season 2 premieres on USA on Saturday, Jan. 6, at 10 p.m. ET/9 CT.
