Stranger Things has a cast of lovable young actors, but as every chef knows, you need acid to balance the sweet. In Stranger Things 2, Erica, played by young Priah Ferguson, was that acid. The little sister of Lucas, she was the mouthy counter to his geeky self. We loved her instantly. And so did the show’s creators, the Duffer Brothers.

Now the Duffer Brothers will be inserting her into the geeky mix of next year’s Stranger Things 3. Speaking with Yahoo! Entertainment, Ross Duffer said, “There will definitely be more Erica in Season 3. That is the fun thing about the show — you discover stuff as you’re filming. We were able to integrate more of her in, but not as much you want because the story [was] already going. ‘We got to use more Erica’ — that was one of the first things we said in the writers’ room.”

Technically, we should dislike Erica. After all, she reminds us of our siblings, who were quick to remind us how uncool we were. But these barbs are so much more adorable coming from Ferguson’s lips. She’s the mouse that roared “Nerd!”

In fact, fans are so stoked over Erica there have been rumblings on social media clamoring for a spin-off featuring her. Ferguson, for her part, is more than game for it.

"I saw that," she said in an interview with TooFab. "I thought that was cool, amazing. If they do want a spin-off, I'm definitely in on it!"

So what would Ferugson want to see in it?

"I would want her to fight the Demogorgon, but she also will have that 'It is what it is' personality," the actress added. "She would definitely be a good competitor, because she has a lot of personality, so she'll be like, 'Test me!'"

In other words, the actress is as thoughtful and observant as the character. Now we really can’t wait to see Stranger Things 3.
