Zack Snyder's 2013 movie Man of Steel was dark — and we're not just talking about the mood. The color was desaturated, that is, muted with blacks and whites, which gave the movie a steel gray wash. Many fans have believed that Man of Steel was overly desaturated...but only one fan has actually fixed the problem.

YouTuber VideoLab asked "What if Man of Steel was IN COLOR?" and answered the question himself by increasing the saturation and restoring the film's original color, which was altered in post-production. Then he compares several before/after shots in a split screen. The results are striking. As VideoLab put it, "Turns out there was a beautiful Zack Snyder movie hiding underneath the bleak coloring."

VideoLab also explains the reason for this decision: To make it look more like the financially successful Dark Knight movies, instead of a movie that looks more like Superman.

Check it out. And let us know what you think of the new, painfully brief, restored version.
