Your name doesn't have to be Newt Scamander in order to hunt and care for magical animals. You don't even have to be a wizard, thanks to a new Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them virtual reality experience from Warner Bros.

By virtually stepping into Newt's case, you'll be able to interact with a menagerie of creatures from the film like Nifflers, Graphorns, Erumpents, Bowtruckles, Thunderbirds, and Occamies. There will also be a few new ones like Mandrakes, although they're technically considered plants in J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter mythos.

According to the official synopsis, the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Virtual Reality Experience allows you to, "Meet and interact with 6 beasts, complete spells, and immerse yourself in the magic like never before."

Check out the trailer below...

The game (more of a VR experience really) is rated E10+ for tobacco use and alcohol consumption, and is available on several platforms: Vive, DaydreamOculus, Steam, and Gear. It can range from $5 to $10 depending on where you buy it, and is probably a much better purchase if you've got the VR goggles handy.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Virtual Reality Experience is just the first in a series of Harry Potter-inspired games making their way to the eager masses. The mobile game Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery arrives sometime this year, while the augmented reality of Harry Potter: Wizards Unite is still in the works.

Warner Brothers set up an entire division known as Portkey Games that solely deals with making products set in the Wizarding World, so you can expect every facet of Rowling's world to be made into a game eventually. Let us know in the comments what other facets you'd like to explore?
