After five seasons and 50 episodes, Orphan Black came to an end last night with an emotional series finale. Over its tenure, Orphan Black took viewers on a roller coaster of emotions, offering hours of action, humor, heartbreak, and crazy science. They tackled questions of identity, body autonomy, and family. This past season they also approached questions of what lengths people will go to to escape death.
Along the way, the series built up a rabid, loyal fanbase of millions. Calling themselves Clone Club, these fans have spent five years gushing about their love for their favorite show, dressing as their favorite characters, and even creating countless works of art. But the show has also done something for them. It created a home, a family, and a place that allowed them to express themselves however they wanted and needed.
The end of Orphan Black marks the end of an era for these Clone Clubbers, and after last night's finale they took to Twitter to express their feelings about the show's final bow.
This wasn't a one-way exchange, though, as the cast and creators of Orphan Black also took to social media to express their love for the fandom that kept them on the air and expressed their love week after week for five years.
