We all know there's going to be an Iron Man 3, right? With Iron Man 2 having already taken in an estimated $133.6 million domestically, that much is guaranteed. The only thing we don't know is—what's Iron Man 3 going to be about?
Turns out director Jon Favreau doesn't entirely know either. As he recently told MTV News (as you can see in the video clip below), "There's so much I don't understand about what the world is going to be like then." With Tony Stark's world affected by such upcoming films as Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger and The Avengers, Favreau isn't quite sure what kind of playing field his armored hero will be left with.
The one thing he does know is that his villain is going to be the power-ring-wielding Mandarin, even though "the way it's depicted in the comic books, you don't want to see that."
How will Favreau adapt the stereotypical Asian villain from a less politically correct time? Looks like we'll get to find out!
What do you think about the decision to bring the Mandarin on board as the villain of Iron Man 3?
(And thanks to Collider for the heads-up!)
