Joss Whedon is one of the hardest-working writer/directors working in Hollywood today, and when he isn't creating epic superhero fodder, he's dashing off screenplays in his "spare" time. His latest screenplay, In Your Eyes, has recently been commited to celluloid. And now you can enjoy the first three minutes of his hard work.
But you're likely to wait a good, long while to see the rest of the film: It seems that In Your Eyes lacks a release date. Only those lucky enough to have tickets to the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival will learn more about the boy and girl who appear to have a connection, despite their lack of physical contact.
Did we say that it doesn't have a release date? Hell, it doesn't even have a poster.
Unfortunately, Whedon didn't direct this paranormal romance (perhaps his other job, wrangling superheroes, has kept him busy). But if it's anything like his other work, it should be full of wit and wonder.
Sadly, we won't be seeing Whedon's usual suspects, aka Alexis Denisof, Amy Acker, Fran Kranz, Tom Lenk, Eliza Dushku, Clark Gregg and the other actors who frequent his productions. Nor will he be working with his frequent partners, aka brother Jed Whedon and sister-in-law Maurissa Tancharoen. However, the movie was produced by Kai Cole, aka Whedon's wife.
Check out the first three minutes below. And let us know in the comments just how afraid you are that In Your Eyes will wind up in some Cabin in the Woods-like purgatory.
