The first official trailer for a new feature-length Final Fantasy XV tie-in movie has been released. Titled Kingsglaive, the CGI animated movie will be available digitally as well as on Blu-ray, but won’t be shown in movie theaters.

Square Enix unveiled the trailer during last night’s Final Fantasy XV Uncovered event and revealed that the movie will be released sometime in 2016 by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, ahead of the Final Fantasy XV video game set to hit store shelves in the fall.

To me, the most interesting thing about Kingsglaive is that it will feature the voice acting talents of Game of Thrones stars Lena Headey as Princess Luna and Sean Bean as King Regis (full disclosure: crossing all my fingers and toes that Sean Bean's character doesn't die in this). Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul will play a soldier named Nyx. Have a look:

Holy cow! That trailer looks absolutely stunning in good ol' Final Fantasy fashion, but it’s a bit of a bummer that we don’t hear anyone speak. My guess is that the actors haven’t recorded their lines yet. Here’s an extended synopsis:

The magical kingdom of Lucis is home to the world’s last remaining Crystal, and the menacing empire of Niflheim is determined to steal it. King Regis of Lucis commands an elite force of soldiers called the Kingsglaive. Wielding their king’s magic, they fight to protect Lucis. As the overwhelming military might of the empire bears down, King Regis is faced with an impossible ultimatum – to marry his son, Prince Noctis to Princess Lunafreya of Tenebrae, captive of Niflheim, and surrender his lands to Niflheim rule. Although the king concedes, it becomes clear that the empire will stop at nothing to achieve their devious goals, with only the Kingsglaive standing between them and world domination.

If you can’t wait for that movie, you can check out the first episode of the anime prequel Brotherhood. Four more episodes will be released before the game comes out on Sept. 30. Check it out:

Are you looking forward to explore the magical kingdom of Lucis with Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV before getting immersed in the Final Fantasy XV video game itself?
