Animation legend Bruce Timm is getting his own corner of the DC universe to play in, and here's our final look at Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles.
The new animated series, which will roll out as an online exclusive on Machinima, is essentially set in a bizarre alternate-reality version of the DC universe. This is a world where Zod is Superman's father, Batman is (literally) a vampiric Man-Bat, and Wonder Woman is the child of Ares, God of War. Yeah, if you're having a bit of trouble recognizing your favorite hero, that should explain why.
The pitch is obviously a bit of a risky one, but Timm's (Batman: The Animated Series) involvement adds a ton of legitimacy to the idea. The guy was responsible for much of the iconic DC animated stuff in the late 1990s, producing Batman Beyond, Batman: The Animated Series, Superman: The Animated Series and Justice League: The Animated Series.
Ahead of the premiere next week, the studio has dropped a final trailer that shows off some new footage (including this world's version of Harley Quinn!) and a bit more of the setup. Not surprisingly, the world is having a bit of trouble deciding if DC's legendary heroes are here to help or hurt us. The look of the show is classic, throwback Batman: The Animated Series, which is its own kind of retro cool.

The show premieres June 8 on Machinima. A second season has already been ordered for 2016.
