Weâve been hearing rumblings about what couldâve been ever since George Millerâs 2007 attempt to bring the Justice League to the big screen went kaput, and now we can finally read the script for ourselves.
Dubbed Justice League: Mortal, the Miller-helmed project was a textbook study in big-budget excess that actually got within a few weeks of going in front of the camera. It wouldâve starred a cast of mostly unknowns, with D.J. Cotrona as Superman, Armie Hammer as Batman, Adam Brody as the Flash and Megan Gale as Wonder Woman anchoring the dream team.
But everything from a ballooning budget to the writersâ strike knocked it off track, and weâre still waiting for DCâs greatest heroes to finally team up. So while we wait a few more years, hereâs the (alleged) script for Millerâs aborted project, which has finally leaked online. Assuming itâs legit, of course.
So how is it? Itâs interesting, definitely, though the subtitle âMortalâ comes off a little heavy-handed toward the end. But with some polish, it couldâve been an interesting jumping-off point.
