The promo mill on Star Wars: The Last Jedi is going roundly ahead of the film’s premiere next month, and even though we’ve seen some great footage in the various trailers and promos released so far, a new TV spot centering on John Boyega’s Finn just revealed a key moment from the sequel.
While we’ve already seen the former Stormtrooper seemingly fully recovered from the terrible injuries he sustained from his lightsaber battle with Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) in The Force Awakens, we have new footage showing him finally waking from his coma (quite violently) by shouting “Rey!”
When everyone’s favorite Resistance pilot Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) tells Finn that he “must have a thousand questions,” the first thing Finn asks him is (surprise, surprise): “Where’s Rey?” Well. Funny you ask that, Finn...
The promo titled "Heroes" spotlights the fact that while Finn was raised to fight (as a Stormtrooper), our budding Resistance fighter feels that for the first time in his life he has something to fight for; which sends him on a dangerous undercover mission on a First Order Star Destroyer, where he'll clash with Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie), as seen in the promo below. Oh, and besides getting more Finn (which is a plus), there's also snippets of new footage (including a shot of an X-wing Starfighter around the 0:18 second mark). Check it out:
Directed by Rian Johnson (Looper), the film’s running time was recently reported at 150-minutes long; which makes Episode VIII the longest Star Wars film to-date. The Last Jedi opens on Dec. 15. Are you excited about our impending return to a galaxy far, far away?
