Finn Jones teases multiple masks in Season 2 of Netflix's Iron Fist

Those who complained that we didn't see Danny Rand's classic green and yellow costume in the first season of Netflix's Iron Fist, seem to forget that we didn't see Matt Murdock's iconic outfit until the very end of Daredevil's initial season. Good things come to those who wait, and the good things certainly seem to be arriving in the sophomore season of Iron Fist, which punches onto the streaming service this fall.

“Well, we have a couple of different masks in the second season,” star Finn Jones explained at AsiaPOP Comicon last weekend, reports “So you’ll see some Iron Fist masks, and, you know, there may be some form of costume in the second season.”

The first full trailer for the new season certainly gave us a look at the yellow mask, possibly for a flashback sequence to Danny's training in the mystical city of K'un-Lun. In terms of what Jones meant by hinting at multiple masks, it could be that we'll get a glimpse of previous Iron Fists like we saw in that old footage from 1948, which Bakuto showed to Danny in Season 1.

With the indication that we'll get to see more of K'un-Lun in Season 2, it's likely we'll get a scene where young Rand gets a lesson in the old protectors of the ancient city, their masks or statues on display in a long marbled hall.

The "some form of costume" might irk those hoping for the character to go full Iron Fist from the comics. After all, Jones's words hint that it won't be exactly the same look, but at the same time, this version of the character is much like Luke Cage. Danny doesn't need a flamboyant costume to fight bad guys; he's a street-level hero, concerned with protecting the innocent over everything else, including fashion.

Season 2 of Iron Fist arrives on Netflix Sep. 7 and will be missing one very familiar face of Marvel Television, Rosario Dawson's Claire Temple (aka the Night Nurse).
