We’ve known about Stargate: Originscast for a while now, but we finally have some non-behind-the-scenes footage from the new streaming show.

As Deadline reports, the 10-episode, 10 minute-each entry into the sci-fi franchise will arrive on MGM’s new digital platform Stargate Command on February 15. The show “explores the journey that sets a young Catherine Langford on the way to helping unlock the secrets of an ancient technology that could change the very course of humanity."

Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think:

The prequel’s young Catherine Langford (Ellie Gall) has quite a bit to discover about the extraordinary portal we glimpse for a few moments in the trailer, which will eventually lead to her becoming the expert known to fans in both the film and TV series. Her father Professor Langford looks to play a key role as the one who discovered the portal in the first place and also marks the return of Connor Trinneer to the franchise (he first appeared in Stargate: Atlantis).

While it’s true you don’t see any real Stargate-ing in this teaser (a streaming budget has to keep its effects close to the vest), writers Mark Ilvedson and Justin Michael Terry and director Mercedes Bryce Morgan surely won’t let fans down when it comes to the complex, beefy mythos of the franchise.
