First footage from Helix S2 shows we're definitely not in the Arctic anymore

The first season of Syfy’s Helix was a taut sci-fi thriller with some positively insane ideas, all thrown together in a (slightly too) ambitious mixed bag. Well, good news — season two looks even crazier.

The network debuted the first teaser trailer for Helix’s return during the debut of the new zombie series Z Nation last week, and that footage has finally made its way online. What do we learn? The days of freezing our tails off in the Arctic are long, long gone. Oh, Ronald D. Moore, what are you up to this time?

Season one ended with a positively insane cliffhanger, and season two looks to dive right back into the crazy. In a good way. It’s admittedly brief, but we get a whole lot of info packed into a small package. There seem to be some “vectors” on a small boat that is being investigated, and part of the action seemingly takes place in a warm, jungle-like environment. Hey, what better way to change things up from Arctic Biosystems?

We also get to see much of the principal cast back in action, and we’re happy to say the talented Neil Napier’s Dr. Peter Farragut will apparently have a lot more to do than menace the team this time around. Yay!
