The network has been dropping some freaky teasers for a while, and now the first trailer for Syfy’s straight-up horror series Channel Zero has arrived.

The first, six-episode miniseries is subtitled Candle Cove, and focuses on a mysterious children’s show that brainwashes kids and only gets scarier from there. The story is told through the lens of child psychologist Mike Painter (Paul Schneider), who remembers the series Candle Cove from when he was a child. But, things get really freaky when Painter returns to his hometown as an adult to investigate the case of his missing twin brother (who disappeared when they were children), and it turns out to all be connected to that creepy kids show.

If the concept sounds familiar, there’s a reason: It’s based on a very popular Creepypasta story, and at least judging by the footage here, the TV adaptation could be just as creepy as the short story. It feels like American Horror Story meets Sesame Street, and boy, isn’t that the mash-up you never knew you wanted?

Channel Zero: Candle Cove premieres October 11 on Syfy (Corporate owner of Blastr -Ed).
