Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions have unleashed the first trailer for their upcoming horror movie Happy Death Day.
Directed by Christopher Landon (Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones) and co-written with X-Men comic book writer Scott Lobdell, Happy Death Day is like Groundhog Day meets Scream meets Edge of Tomorrow. The movie hails from the producer of The Purge, Get Out and The Visit.
Starring in the horror thriller is Jessica Roth (La La Land), as well as Israel Broussard, Ruby Modine, Rachel Matthews, Charles Aitken, Jason Bayle, Phi Vu and Donna Duplantier. Here's the synopsis:
Blumhouse (Split, Get Out, Whiplash) produces an original and inventive rewinding thriller in Happy Death Day, in which a college student (Jessica Rothe, La La Land) relives the day of her murder with both its unexceptional details and terrifying end until she discovers her killer’s identity.
Happy Death Day opens in theaters on Oct. 13. And yep, that's a Friday the 13th! Check out the trailer, and let us know what you think.
