Any time studios reboot a classic film you run the risk of messing with something a whole lot of people love. The latest incarnation of this phenomenon is the new Jumanji starring The Rock, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, and Jack Black. Thankfully, it sounds like this one might not be "ruining" any childhoods.
Some fans were understandably skeptical when the news broke, especially in the wake of Robin Williams' tragic death. We haven't heard much on the project aside from a few trailers, but some early screenings have finally taken place, and the social media embargo for the film has lifted.
So far, all of the reactions we've seen are positive and point to the chemistry between the cast as one of the best things about the film. Of course, early reactions almost always skew positive, but still, this looks like a good trend for when some full reviews start to drop.
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle opens December 20.
