NBC has picked up the single-camera DC Comics superhero comedy series Powerless for a full season order. The network has also released the first images from the upcoming TV show.

Written and created by Ben Queen (Nathan Fillion series Drive, Cars 2), the workplace half-hour comedy will mostly feature fringe DC Comics superheroes. The show joins fellow comic book series Gotham (Fox), Supergirl (currently on CBS but heading to The CW?), The Flash (CW), Arrow (CW) and DC's Legends of Tomorrow (CW) on DC's ever-growing TV roster.

Produced by Warner Bros. TV, Powerless stars Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical, Sucker Punch) Danny Pudi (Community), Alan Tudyk (Firefly, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), Christina Kirk (A to Z) and Atlin Mitchell (The Twilight Saga) as the Crimson Fox (an excellent example of a fringe comic book superhero). It was apparently among the early favorites at NBC, with the pilot riding high.

Here’s the series’ official synopsis:

In the first comedy series set in the universe of DC Comics, Vanessa Hudgens stars as Emily, a spunky young insurance adjuster specializing in regular-people coverage against damage caused by the crime-fighting superheroes. It’s when she stands up to one of these larger-than-life figures (after an epic battle messes with her commute) that she accidentally becomes a cult ‘hero’ in her own right … even if it’s just to her group of lovably quirky co-workers. Now, while she navigates her normal, everyday life against an explosive backdrop, Emily might just discover that being a hero doesn’t always require superpowers.

Have a look at the pics below to have a first look at Danny Pudi and Alan Tudyk. We also have a sneak peek at the scene where Emily (Hudgens) and her fellow commuters come into contact with Crimson Fox (Mitchell) -- kicking off the whole series.

Are you looking forward to Powerless?
