Pearl — Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos' latest creator-owned series about a tattoo artist by day and reluctant Yakuza by night — is heating up, and now we have an exclusive first look at the next issue.

The titular lead character already received her first list from Yakuza boss Mr. Miike, with all the people she needs to take care of. Soon, Pearl headed into a busy nightclub and pointed her gun. On that cliffhanger in Pearl #2, readers were left to wonder who was on the receiving end of that gun barrel. Was it the young man she saved back in Issue #1, Rick Araki, who she later found out was part of a rival clan? Or was it someone else on the list?

No longer just a tattoo artist, Pearl has been sucked into the life of the Yakuza that she wanted no part of, a world her father protected her away from. In recent flashbacks we've been able to see Pearl's relationship with her parents, her early days of learning how to tattoo on bananas, and a friendship with Kim that has stood the test of time. In Pearl #3 we are introduced to some new characters, and they don't take kindly to what Pearl's been up to.

SYFY WIRE has the exclusive preview of Pearl #3 where we pick up after the events that transpired on last issue's clifhanger. We are introduced to Rumor and Ryu, also known as The Endo Twins, and one of them appears to know of Pearl's work, well, at least her ink work.
