You see that version of DC Comics’ Cyborg up top? Well, that big guy is getting a slimmed-down revamp to go along with a new standalone series.

Potential spoilers ahead for recent developments in DC’s comic universe!

The DC universe is in the midst of some major upheaval these days thanks to Convergence, but out of the wreckage they plan to continue and relaunch a ton of books. One of those will finally give Cyborg a chance to shine with his own standalone series.

After seemingly dying in battle, it seems Cyborg will be reborn with a new look. After years of being one of the bulkiest heroes in DC’s canon, it’s nice to see the character looking trim and maneuverable. The redesign throws some nice nods to the original version, while simultaneously giving us something fresh. For the most part, well done, DC.

The new standalone series is being handled by Ivan Reis and Dave Walker, with the first issue set to hit shelves July 22.

Until then, enjoy four preview pages below and let us know what you think.
