Director John Carpenter (The Thing, Halloween, They Live) may currently be into the concert tour scene promoting his Lost Themes albums with his son, Cody, but fans really wish he'd get back behind the camera and make another movie.

While we anxiously await that moment, Carpenter is busy finishing up a stellar collection of science fiction stories in a new comic book anthology series titled, simply, John Carpenter's Tales of Science Fiction.

This new venture by Storm King Comics will be shepherded by Carpenter and his wife, Sandy King, and includes mind-stirring, speculative stories by Mike Sizemore, Louise Simonson and James Ninness, with art by Dave Kennedy, Guy Dorian and Andres Esparza.

Check out a preview of Ninness and Esparza's Vault #1 in the gallery below and tell us if you'll get on board Carpenter's new monthly sci-fi anthology comic when it lands this July.
